Devs (ABD)
The Africa Blockchain Devs (ABD) is an initiative by the Africa Blockchain Council aimed at promoting the technical skills of blockchain across the African continent by training developers. Recognizing the transformative potential of blockchains such as Ethereum in driving financial inclusion, decentralized applications, and digital innovation, ABD is dedicated to bringing this technology closer to communities at the grassroots level with a focus on developers.
What is ABD?
ABD is a community-driven project designed to spread awareness, education, and practical knowledge about blockchain throughout Africa. The project focuses on empowering developers from local communities by training them via bootcamps, hackathons, and other developer sessions, making blockchain more accessible and understandable.

Smart Contract Developer Training Camps
ABD organizes Ethereum developer training camps across different countries, led by Council Ambassadors. These camps offer hands-on training on Ethereum’s fundamentals, smart contracts, and decentralized applications, enabling participants to gain practical skills and insights.

Distribution of Blockchain Developer Materials
The project distributes Ethereum developer materials, including developer guides and tutorials such as Solidity, to communities and institutions. These resources are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of smart contracts and how to develop various applications using Solidity.

Smart Contract Developer Hackathons
The Africa Blockchain Council, with the assistance of its country ambassadors, will hold frequent hackathons for blockchain developers in various countries and local cities.

Highlighting Unique Grassroot Application
ABD showcases new Ethereum/Smart Contract applications developed by grassroot developers to allow them to showcase their projects to the world and get assistance in building them into companies by connecting them to Web3 entrepreneurship hubs.
